I watered them on Monday morning and won't be back until Thursday night. They are by the window which is opened. Help! I don't want to kill my first tomato plants!
Can I wait 2 days to water my indoor tomato plants?
they should be o k. over watering is just as harmful as under watering. If they look a tad wilted when you get back,,they will spring right back up.
I let it happen to encourage the roots to grow which gets a bigger plant.
you said they are your first. check the wesites about thier care and pruning,,,esp pruning
Reply:I believe your plants will be alive since they are indoors. I would move them away from the window while away. I generally water my plants outdoors every other day. It is dry and hot here.
I hope you have yours in big pots. Anyway to put them outside?
Don't over fertilize. I raised a good little crop of tomatoes, my first time last year. I had them around a huge tree to shade them
partially. It worked beautifully while others were dying in the drought. I use red soil as that is best for tomatoes if available.
Reply:yes even if they dry out some when you get back and water them they should spring right back . . .
